February 21, 2022 Cape Town

Sorry for not responding the other day, and also sorry for sending such an interesting email last time. I was bored out of my mind and didn't know what to say. I do appreciate all you wonderful people back home. I love the whole mission thing, its going amazing. I had my birthday last week Monday which was so awesome. I had a great day hanging out with members, we also went out to eat at a restaurant which was so nice. This past week has not been that amazing. We have had a few miracles such as a few wonderful people showing up at church unexpectedly and a person telling us they want to be baptized. Its been hard down here in Africa too, our mission president is cracking down on so many rules which is a great thing. There are alot alot alot of Elders though who do not want to follow most rules so that has been tough trying to decide where I stand and holding on to my testimony.

If any one has any questions as to where they should stand, always stand in the light. I have talked with people not willing to follow the rules of God. They have said things to me like
"God isn't there."
"I don't have a strong testimony him so why should I follow all the rules".
"It's more profitable, and brings me closer to God to do this".
"I follow the spirit of the law, not the letter of the law".
"You are just a over obedient".
Each excuse I hear, kind-of just hurts. But it doesn't hurt me, it makes me sad for them. How can you stand before God at the last day and say "ya I wanted to be like you God but I didn't follow your rules because I didn't have a strong enough testimony (or whatever)". Now do you see how lame that excuse is...? Could you see Jesus Christ giving that excuse? No, he loves God and knows he is there. But love is not just a verb it's an action too. How can you love someone you don't serve? I'll answer it, you can't. And when you serve God you will feel that spirit that confirms that he is there. If you want to know God is there, serve him, love him, and follow his law for you.
If you want faith do something that requires it. How can you do something? It's easy, loom around and ask God. Eventually something will be found, and after doing God's will for a while people will also start coming to you and looking up to you, they eventually started following Christ and asking for miracles. And Christ was righteous enough to do those miracles. As was his Apostles too. I wonder how Paul or Peter felt. The first time they were asked to cast out a devil, to raise someone from the dead. They probably felt inadequate, like they were not worthy to do such a thing. if they didn't have that priesthood power they couldn't of done it. Imagine being there asked to do something like that. Could you stand and ask God to listen to your plee and head to what you are asking when you don't follow him commandments the best you can. (Notice not perfectly but the best you can improving each day).
I know that God lives. I beg and implore each one of you, to stand up. To ask for the power of God each day and to strive to become a better person. Each person in this world is able to receive the power of God, ministering angels, and their own experiences with the savior. whats stopping us though? That's the question. Purify yourself, become one with Christ, find that ultimate Joy, set high goals in your life, and live so that when you go to heaven you can look back on your life and say I could not possibly of done better. I love you all. Stay righteous and look up towards God constantly.

With love, Elder Isaac H Brice
