February 7, 2022 Cape Town

 Howdy Yall.

Welcome back to another great talk from the South African missionary. It's great to be back hosting this show and talking about how wonderful and how hard it is to serve a mission.
First off we have a wonderful question by our good friend, her name is Mother. Don't know who thats referring to but I'll try my best to answer it. It reads "WHY ARENT YOU ANSWERING MY EMAILS!!!"
Well thats a very upright and impersonal question, I guess I won't be answering that and will leave it to a later time. Like never!
Another great question asked by a friend. Whose name will be hidden for their sake and for mine too. "How is Africa?"
Now this is a much more natural question that rolls off the tongue and doesn't break pixels on a computer screen. Much much more appealing to answer. Sorry Mother, or whoever you may be.
To answer that question, Africa is great. Its exciting, wonderful, but also sad. Its sad because of poverty and inequality and racism. Its sad because of the lack of Christ like love. Its sad, because of the fingers being flung in every direction but never once pointing to themselves asking how they can make things better. But sad things are not good to dwell on. Its better to talk about happy things on this fun once in a lifetime radio show. Its so great down in Africa because of the people. We see so many amazing people who have nothing, who get a ride on a taxi or a bus that would probably steal everything from a guy like me. And drive with some time their only money for the week down to church. Their faith is majestic and certainly does move mountains. I always laugh (HAHA) when somebody comes up to us. Sayings "Will you pray for me to get -a job, wife, etc-" and so we pray. And after having a miracle moment with them and the prayer works. the prayer works!!! let me say that again, THE PRAYER WORKS!! they walk off with their new wife or new home and don't come back to talk to us. Saying their own majestic powers brought it upon them. How funny, I remember you telling me that you have been searching for ages and only God could help. But anyways I digress. The point of this is to answer a question. I love africa the people love God and I love serving a mission.

Well that in my opinion was a good little Q/A. I would love to share a little of my testimony and what happened this week, besides me getting gloriously strong as I keep doing hundreds of pushups and work on my calisthenics. I would love to stress today and as I finish up with my testimony and a recount of the week. I want to stress the point of making yourself Happy. Of Joy and of Peace. And also of Faith, Hope, and Charity. FIrst off, start each day with a smile, give it your biggest smile and keep that smile. I have noticed when I let down my smile I get sad and its harder to feel the spirit. Second point to bring Happiness, Get rid of negativity in your life. Some things are stressful and being stressed at times is not bad, it's how we grow. but you shouldn't ever become so stressed you are depressed, that's not good. So get rid of the negativity and focus on the savior. If there are things causing problems which you can easily fix, get rid of it or go away from it. Negative people are also hard. Just try to love them and serve them but also distance yourself from them if possible. Third, do things that you enjoy which bring Joy and also which can help others. Take what you enjoy and make yourself good at it then share it with others. Take that one talent you love and make 20 talents out of it. Don't bury it because you love it so much. Fifth live the higher law. What did Jesus say the first commandment was. That's right, do that and the second great command because that's where the higher law is. Sixth Don't look for the fourth point because there isn't one. We love to ignore the simple things, the simple things that get us mad or upset, instead just focus on the simple things that matter like dancing. So focus on what matters and not on the unimportant things like the numbers (good luck). I hope this helps, I am constantly working on being happier, my mission has been one of the hardest and most depressing times for me and I have always wanted to bring joy to others and to myself. And finally read your scriptures and say your prayers.

This week on our Africa trip. We have searched wide and low and have not come up with any funny stories, besides me being made a district leader. That's funny. So I am excited for that. Ill send some pictures of my week. I have found the China mall though, Its where you can buy anything like board games, clothes, etc, all made in a chinese sweatshop. It's all really really low quality but dirt cheap so I mean I don't know if I want to buy anything, but I could buy anything I wanted, even fireworks (hehe).

I love you all

With happiness, Elder Brice
